Wolfgang Gabel

Wolfgang Gabel (born October 22, 1942 in Königsberg ; † December 18, 2015 ) was a German author and journalist .

Life

Wolfgang Gabel grew up in Halle and Freiburg im Breisgau . After completing secondary school at a Jesuit boarding school , doing a newspaper internship and graduating from high school , he studied journalism. He then worked as a freelancer for radio, television, newspapers and youth book publishers. The first publications were made in 1963. He founded a workshop for scribes, the later Werkkreis Marburg .

Wolfgang Gabel became known in the late 1960s as an author of books for young people who dealt with individual and social conflicts in his works and thus opened up realistic topics for young people.
