Career

Hell celebrated his first international successes in the children's ski races Trofeo Topolino and Whistler Cup . In his respective age group, he won the giant slalom at the Trofeo Topolino in 1992 and the slalom in 1993, while he won the slalom in the Whistler Cup in 1993 and the giant slalom and the Super-G in 1995. He contested his first FIS races in the 1995/96 season and celebrated his first victory in the giant slalom in Sestriere on March 18, 1999 . A week earlier he had taken part in the 1999 Junior World Championships in Pra-Loup , but only finished 16th in the downhill and was eliminated in all other competitions. The South Tyrolean first started in the European Cup in December 1998, but it took six years until he won his first points on December 6, 2004 as eighth of the giant slalom in Valloire . Shortly thereafter, however, he was injured and had to end the 2004/05 season early.

In the winter of 2005/06 Hell was regularly classified in the giant slalom in the European Cup points. At the beginning of the 2006/07 season he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and had to take another break for the rest of the season. After two top 10 places in the European Cup in the 2007/08 season, Hell made his debut in the World Cup on December 21, 2008 in the giant slalom in Alta Badia . However, as in his next World Cup races, he could not qualify for the second round. In the European Cup he went on 14 January 2009 as the third in the giant slalom in Oberjoch first time on the podium, and on March 13, 2009, he celebrated in the giant slalom in Crans-Montana his first and only European Cup win, which in the giant slalom rating he 2008-09 season the reached fifth place.

In the 2009/10 season his best European Cup result was a fifth place in St. Vigil . In the World Cup he was able to qualify for the first and only time for a second run on January 30, 2010 in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora . He finished the race in 27th place and thus won his only World Cup points. This race was also his last in the World Cup. After the 2009/10 season, Hell ended his career.
