Wolfgang Maßberg (* 1932 in Karlsruhe ) is a German mechanical engineer . From 1989 to 1993 he was rector of the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) .

Life

Wolfgang Maßberg studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen . He worked there as a research assistant in the Machine Tool Laboratory and was a thesis on numerically controlled machine tools and machining programming process in 1965 his doctorate . In 1965 he became head of the electrical engineering / automation technology department of the Rheinische Stahlwerke mechanical engineering group in Essen and Dortmund.
