Wolfgang Maier-Preusker

Wolfgang Maier-Preusker (born April 22, 1948 in Heidelberg ) is a German art historian specializing in 17th century Dutch painting and classical modernism .

Life

Wolfgang Maier-Preusker studied economics and art history after completing his bank training and did his doctorate. In 1975, he married Angelika Preusker, daughter of the former Federal Minister and private banker Victor-Emanuel Preusker , and they have two children. He has been professor of art history and art documentation since 1990 and was chairman of the scientific advisory board of Götz Management Holding AG from 1999 . Since 2006 he has been the board member for art banking at the Maecenas Group.

  • President of the German-Paraguayan Society from 1989 to 1996, then Honorary President until the Society was dissolved in 2009.
