Victor-Emanuel Preusker

Victor-Emanuel Preusker (born February 25, 1913 in Berlin ; † May 13, 1991 in Bonn ) was a German politician and banker . From 1953 to 1957 he was Federal Minister for Housing .
Life and work
After graduating from high school , Preusker first completed an apprenticeship in a bank and then studied economics and business administration and political science . In 1937 he finished his studies as a graduate -Kaufmann, 1940 took place its graduation to the doctor of political science.
From 1932 to 1938 Preusker worked at Dresdner Bank in Berlin. From 1938 he worked for Deutsche Bank in Vienna . From 1940 until the end of the war he took part in the Second World War as an officer in the Air Force , most recently as an air traffic control officer in Major Walter Nowotny's Me 262 squadron .
After the Second World War , Preusker built a wood processing company and was editor of the Hessian FDP newspaper Deutscher Kurier . After leaving the federal government, he joined the Hardy & Co. bank as a banker , and was its managing partner from 1958 to 1962. From 1963 to 1970 he was co-owner of the Preusker & Thelen bank, which was founded together with Hubert Thelen . In 1968 he also became a partner in Orbis Bank, a bank of the Investors Overseas Services financial group .
Preusker was married and has two children from his first marriage, Angelika Maier-Preusker, residing in Vienna, and Joachim Preusker, residing in Frankfurt am Main.
Political party
Preusker joined the SS in 1933 . In 1933 he was also in the SA . Preusker had been a member of the NSDAP since May 1, 1937 .
After the Second World War he was a co-founder of the FDP from 1947 to 1949, Secretary General of the State Association of Hesse . Within his party he was an unconditional advocate of civic bloc politics . In protest against the formation of a government between the North Rhine-Westphalian FDP and the SPD , he left the FDP on February 23, 1956 with the other federal ministers and other members of the parliament ( "Euler Group" ) and founded the FVP , of which he became chairman in June 1956. After the FVP had merged with the DP in 1957 , he became the deputy federal chairman of the DP / FVP and state chairman of the DP in North Rhine-Westphalia , but resigned this post only a year later after the disappointing state elections - the DP had only 1.6% of the Votes received - down. In 1960, Preusker resigned from the DP on July 1, due to the merger with the GB / BHE , and joined the CDU on September 20 . In 1970 he rejoined the FDP.

From 1949 to 1961 Preusker was a member of the German Bundestag . On February 23, 1956, he left the FDP parliamentary group together with the so-called "Euler Group" and initially belonged to the Bundestag as a non-attached member . On March 15, 1956, he became a member of the "Democratic Working Group" formed by the Euler Group, which was renamed the FVP parliamentary group on June 26, 1956 and finally formed the DP / FVP group on March 14, 1957 with the DP . On July 1, 1960, he left the DP parliamentary group and, after a short time as a non-attached member, became a member of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group on September 20, 1960 .
Victor-Emanuel Preusker moved in 1949 and 1953 for the FDP as a directly elected representative of the constituency of Wiesbaden and 1957 on the DP national list North Rhine-Westphalia in the Bundestag one. From April 23, 1958 to October 4, 1960 he was Vice President of the German Bundestag . In the election for Vice President, he was only able to prevail against Erwin Schoettle (SPD) in the third ballot .
From July 16, 1952 to July 1, 1954 Preusker was also a member of the ECSC Parliament .
Public offices
After the federal election in 1953 , Preusker was appointed Federal Minister for Housing in the federal government led by Chancellor Konrad Adenauer on October 20, 1953 . After the federal election in 1957 , he resigned from the federal government on October 29, 1957.
Social offices
From 1958 to 1971 Preusker was President of the Central Association of German House and Landowners .
