Hans Schuberth
Hans Schuberth (born April 5, 1897 in Schwabach , † September 2, 1976 in Munich ) was a German politician ( CSU ). From 1949 to 1953 he was Federal Minister for Post and Telecommunications .
education and profession
After graduating from high school in 1914, Schuberth took part in the First World War as a soldier . After a serious wound which resulted in his leg being amputated, he worked as an intern at the machine factory in Dortmund from 1915 to 1916 . He then attended from 1916 a study of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich, which he in 1920 as a graduate - Engineering ended (mechanical engineering). During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Rheno-Franconia Munich in the CV . He then worked as a production engineer at Deutsche Werke AG in Dachau and Munich. From 1925 to 1926 he completed an additional degree in electrical engineering , which he also completed with a diploma. He then joined the Reichspost in 1926 . In 1931 he was appointed Postassessor and in 1933 Postrat. In 1934 he was forcibly transferred to the Reichspostzentralamt in Berlin and, since he refused to join the NSDAP , was no longer promoted. From 1937 he worked for the Reichspostzentraldirektion in Landshut and from 1943 in Munich.
After the Second World War , he was appointed Vice President in 1945 Oberpostdirektion appointed Munich. In October 1945 he became President of the Regensburg Post Office . In 1947 he was appointed President of the Munich Post Office.
Political party
Schuberth had been a member of the CSU since the end of the war.
MP
Schuberth was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957 .
In 1957, together with other members of the Bundestag from the CSU and DP, he introduced a bill to repeal Article 102 of the Basic Law , i.e. with the aim of reintroducing the death penalty , which, however, never came to a vote.
Hans Schuberth has entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Landshut constituency .
Public offices
In 1947 he was appointed State Secretary for Post and Telecommunications in the Bavarian State Ministry of Transport.
From 1947 to 1949 he was elected director of the administration for the postal and telecommunications system in the administration of the United Economic Area in Frankfurt am Main .
After the federal election in 1949 , he was appointed Federal Minister for Post and Telecommunications in the federal government led by Chancellor Konrad Adenauer on September 20, 1949 . After the federal election in 1953 , he resigned from the federal government on December 9, 1953, on the pretext of denominational proportional representation in the cabinet, at the request of Adenauer, who primarily wanted to weaken the CSU, before the appointment of his Protestant successor Siegfried Balke .
Schuberth was then briefly special envoy to the Vatican in 1953/54 .

Schuberth was chairman of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) from 1953 to 1956 .
