The Adenauer II cabinet was the German federal government in office from October 20, 1953 to October 15, 1957 in the second legislative period .
In the federal election on September 6, 1953 , the CDU received 45.2 percent of the vote and 249 of the 509 seats in the Bundestag. On October 9, 1953, the 2nd German Bundestag re- elected Adenauer as Federal Chancellor.
