Wolfgang Zicke Schneider

Wolfgang "bitch" Schneider (* 1945 in Berlin-Weissensee ) is a German jazz - drummer , who also serves as a studio musician was active.

Life

Wolfgang Schneider studied at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . In the mid-1960s, he and Hartmut Behrsing , Hans Schätzke and Reinhard Lakomy belonged to the Dixieland All Stars Berlin. In 1967 he was a founding member of Günther Fischer's quintet , with whom he played on international concert stages and recorded key records with Manfred Krug and Uschi Brüning in the 1970s . As a theater musician he worked at the Berlin Metropol-Theater , where he was awarded the title “ Chamber Musician ”. He also belonged to the Klaus Lenz Big Band , with whom he also appeared on the Jazz Jamboree in 1974 .

In the 1980s he founded his own formation and played with Charlie Mariano , Toto Blanke , Trilok Gurtu , Stu Goldberg , Christoph Spendel , Leo Wright , Wolfgang Engstfeld and Manfred Schoof . On their tours through the GDR he also accompanied international singers such as Etta Cameron , Shirley Bassey , Wilma Reading, Joy Fleming and Greetje Kauffeld . As a studio musician, he also worked for Veronika Fischer , Gisela May , Frank Schöbel and Jürgen Hart . Since 1992 he has been part of the Enfant project led by Uschi Brüning.
