Wolfgang Ziebart

Wolfgang Ziebart (born January 30, 1950 in Hanover ) is a German manager.

Life

Ziebart was born as the son of Prof. Erwin Ziebart and his wife in Hanover. His father headed development on the board of Krauss-Maffei AG and later became spokesman for the board of ZF Friedrichshafen .

After studying mechanical engineering and then completing his doctorate at the Technical University of Munich , he worked for the Munich car manufacturer BMW . There he initially worked in the area of ​​vehicle pre-development and production, in 1991 he was appointed managing director of the BMW subsidiary Kontron Elektronik GmbH in Eching near Munich, before becoming head of the body and vehicle electronics area in 1992. A year later he was responsible for the development of the "small series" and thus the 3 series (E46) . He was appointed to the board in 1999, but had to leave the company a year later after the Rover debacle .

Ziebart then switched to the automotive supplier Continental in Hanover. There he was responsible for the Automotive Systems division and thus, among other things, for the production of electronic brake and airbag systems. In 2000 he became a member of the board of directors, one year later he became deputy chairman of the board.

Ziebart was CEO of Infineon since September 2004, but the contract was terminated on June 1, 2008 after a Supervisory Board meeting.

In December 2009 it was announced that Ziebart would be the new managing director of Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. KG, the reason being the takeover of Artega by the Mexican investor Tresalia Capital. On Friday, June 29, 2012, Artega filed for insolvency at the Paderborn District Court and was then taken over on October 1, 2012 by the founder and majority shareholder of paragon AG, Klaus Dieter Frers, who will start manufacturing the Microlino.

Ziebart has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE since July 2012 .

From August 1, 2013 to March 31, 2015, Ziebart was Engineering Director at the board level at Jaguar Land Rover in England.

Ziebart is married and has three children.
