Wolfgang von Plotho (District Administrator)

Wolfgang Edler Herr and Freiherr von Plotho (born February 24, 1849 in Zorien , † September 24, 1926 in Berlin ) was a German manor owner, administrative officer and writer.

origin

His parents were the Freiherr Felix von Plotho (* March 6, 1822, † January 18, 1864) on Zorien and Maria geb. Freiin von Welling (born June 14, 1822), daughter of the Prussian Colonel Karl August von Welling. His sister Elisabeth (1853-1852) was married to the later Prussian Lieutenant General Armand Léon von Ardenne .

Life

After attending the monastery school in Roßleben , he studied law and camera science at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Berlin . In 1868 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . He took part in the Franco-German War as a lieutenant in the Hussar Regiment “von Zieten” (Brandenburg) No. 3 . He later became a first lieutenant in the Landwehr.

Von Plotho became the owner of the Pennigsdorf manor near Güsen . In the district of Jerichow II he was district administrator, dike captain , district deputy and member of the district council. From 1901 to 1904 he was District Administrator of the District of Jerichow II . He was a member of the district committee in Magdeburg and patron saint of the churches in Zorien, Reesen and Gütter.

Von Plotho was active as a writer. His writings were historical and dramatic in nature.

family

He married on September 26, 1874 on Briesen Bernadine von Bredow (born April 24, 1851), a daughter of Lieutenant General Adalbert von Bredow . The couple had several children:
