Wolfsblut intervenes (original title: Zanna Bianca alla riscossa ) is an Italian adventure film based on motifs by Jack London , which was directed in 1975 by Tonino Ricci . The German-language premiere took place on March 29, 1977 on ZDF .

action

Klondike, late 19th century: Two poachers attack gold prospector Ben Dover; His dog can alert his friend Burt Halloway, but he only finds Ben's body. Burt goes on a search for the murderers, for which he assumes the identity of Ben. In the town of Shelby he finds the unscrupulous Mr. Nelson, who organizes dog fights and controls the gold deposits - the criminals have also joined him - the young Kim, whose father is Ben, and the pretty saloon owner Katie, with whom Kim is staying while the Mountie Sergeant is looking for his father.

Nelson has the title deed of the gold mine stolen; Wolfsblut must save Kim from a bear; Halloway is mistaken for his friend's murderer and imprisoned; Katie is torn between her conflicting feelings. When Wolfsblut frees Burt from prison and Nelson and his men kidnap Kim and flee towards the wilderness, Burt must knock down the sergeant who does not believe his true story revealed to Katie. Burt can kill Carroll and go after the gangsters with wolf blood. When he loses his horse, the dog can cause confusion in the criminals' camp. This ultimately costs the violent Billy his life. Kim is able to free himself in the further course of the escape and wanders through the woods; Burt can reach the bandits and with the help of the mounties chasing him and with the help of wolf blood overpower them and kill them. Finally, Wolfsblut finds Kim, whose life is in danger, but falls down the gorge into the river when he is rescued.

The mine is transferred to Kim in Shelby; Burt officially takes on the identity of Dover and, with Katie, becomes the parent. Wolf's blood limps into Shelby.

criticism

The lexicon of international films sees the film as “a thin infusion of a novel by Jack London, naive and sentimentally adventurous.” The Italian critics remarked “passable actors who always seem disguised”. However, “compared to this aimless film, even toothpaste advertising with wolf's blood is more efficient”. Christian Keßler criticizes the lack of acting leadership and the misplaced leading actor Merli.

Remarks

The wolfhound Sacha represents the title hero. The film was shot in the area of Cortina d'Ampezzo .
