Benito Stefanelli

Benito Stefanelli (born September 2, 1929 in Rome , † December 1999 ) was an Italian actor and stuntman .

Life

Stefanelli began his film career as an extra in the monumental film The Journeys of Odysseus with Kirk Douglas in the title role. From the beginning of the 1960s he also worked as a stuntman and armorer. Under the stage name Benny Reeves he played in the spaghetti westerns - Trilogy A Fistful of Dollars , For a Few Dollars More and Bad and the Ugly . Due to his good knowledge of English, he is said to have worked as a translator between Clint Eastwood and director Sergio Leone . In the 1970s he also starred in Leone's My Name Is Nobody films with Terence Hill . In the 1980s he worked increasingly as a stunt coordinator, including on Once Upon a Time in America (1984) and Cobra Verde (1987). His last film as an actor and stunt coordinator was Masters of Horror from 1991.
