Volodymyr Oleksijowytsch Husjew (born July 23, 1927 in Stalino , Ukrainian SSR ; † July 1, 2014 in Kiev , Ukraine ) was a Ukrainian- Soviet politician and from 1968 to 1979 chairman of the executive committee of the Kiev City Council of People's Deputies (mayor).
Life
Volodymyr Husjew studied industrial and civil engineering at the Faculty of Industrial and Civil Structure of the Kiev Institute of Civil Engineering until 1951 . In 1950 he became a member of the Communist Party of Ukraine . From January 1963 to August 1968 he was the deputy chairman of the Executive Committee of the Kiev City Council of People's Deputies and from August 1968 to November 1979 he was the chairman of the city council (mayor). From 1979 to 1986 Husjew was the deputy minister for industrial construction of the Ukrainian SSR and between 1986 and 1988 he was a Soviet advisor, among other things, involved in the reconstruction of the city of Kirovakan after the earthquake in Armenia . From January to November 1989 he was Deputy Minister for Construction of the Ukrainian SSR and then retired. Husjew was also a member of the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR several times . He died of a heart attack in Kiev at the age of 86.
