Wyśmierzyce is a city in Poland in the Masovian Voivodeship . Wyśmierzyce was the smallest city in Poland until the city elevation of Wiślicas in 2018, and Opatowiec has had this title since 2019 .
history
In 1338 Wyśmierzyce received town charter. During the third partition of Poland , the place became part of Austria in 1795 . In 1809 the city fell to the newly formed Duchy of Warsaw and was transferred to it in 1815 with the establishment of Congress Poland . In 1870 Wyśmierzyce lost its town charter. In 1922 the town was given city rights again. In an administrative reform, Wyśmierzyce became part of the newly formed Radom Voivodeship in 1975 and part of the Masovian Voivodeship from 1999 onwards.
