The X-41 Common Aero Vehicle is or has been an under lock standing development project for a US military spacecraft . No specifications or pictures were released until at least 2006. The X-41 was described as a controllable re-entry aircraft that can release a payload of 450 kg into the earth's atmosphere in suborbital hypersonic flight .

The X-41 was part of the now discontinued FALCON program and is or was financed by NASA and DARPA .
