Xaysa Anousone (born March 20, 1994 in Vientiane ) is a Laotian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Xaysa Anousone gained his first international experience in 2011 at the World Youth Championships near Lille , where he was eliminated with 15.20 seconds in the first round. He then retired at the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang over 400 meters and 400 m hurdles each in the preliminary round. The following year he took part in the 60-meter hurdles at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou and was eliminated there with 9.03 s in the lead. At the Junior World Championships in Barcelona he also did not reach the semifinals with 14.94 s. In 2013 he was allowed to participate in the World Championships inMoscow start and retired there with 16.21 s in the preliminary round. He then won the bronze medal behind the Thai Jamras Rittidet and Rayzam Shah Wan Sofian from Malaysia at the Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw in 14.17 s . The following year he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon for the first time and was eliminated there with 14.21 seconds, as was the case at the Asian Championships in 2015 in Wuhan with 14.60 seconds. He then finished sixth in the hurdles sprint at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in 14.33 s, as well as in 41.94 s in the Laotian 4 x 100 meter relay. He again took part in the World Championships in Beijing , but retired again with 14.74 s in the preliminary round .

In 2016 he took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and was eliminated there with 14.40 seconds in the first round . In 2017 he was seventh at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan in 14.75 s and at the World Championships in London he was eliminated with 14.55 s in the lead . He then just missed a medal in fourth place at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 14.18 s. The following year he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta , but this time too, with 14.27 s, he could not qualify for the semifinals. In 2019 he was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Doha with 14.45 s in the first round, as well as from the World Championships , which also took place in Doha, with 14.54 s. At the beginning of December he won the bronze medal again at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 13.99 seconds behind Clinton Kingsley Bautista from the Philippines and Wan Sofian from Malaysia.
