Xuancheng ( Chinese  宣 城市 , Pinyin Xuānchéng Shì ) is a district-free city in the southeast of the Chinese province of Anhui . Xuancheng has an area of ​​12,323 km² and about 2.60 million inhabitants (2016). 315,058 people live in the actual urban settlement area (2010 census). Xuancheng is bounded by the prefecture cities of Huangshan in the southwest, Chizhou in the west and Wuhu in the northwest, and the provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu in the east.

The double pagodas of the Guangjiao Temple (广 教 寺 双塔, Guǎngjiāo sì shuāng tǎ) and the Chenshan site (陈 山 遗址, Chénshan yízhǐ) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Administrative structure

At the county level, the prefecture-level city of Xuancheng consists of a municipality, two independent cities and four counties. These are:

  • Xuanzhou Municipality - 宣州区Xuānzhōu Qū ;
  • City of Ningguo - 宁国市Níngguó Shì ;
  • Guangde City - 广 德 市Guǎngdé Shì ;
  • District Langxi -郎溪县Langxi Xiàn ;
  • Jing County - 泾 县Jīng Xiàn ;
  • District Jingde -旌德县Jingde Xiàn ;
  • District Jixi -绩溪县Jixi Xiàn .
