Bozhou (亳州 市; Pinyin : Bózhōu Shì) is a city in the northwest of the Chinese province of Anhui . The administrative headquarters are located in Qiaocheng District. Bozhou is considered the center of the trade in traditional Chinese medicine in China .

The graves of the clan of the Cao family (曹氏 家族 墓群, Cáoshì jiāzú mùqún), the Huaxilou (花 戏楼, Huāxìlóu) and the old war tunnels of Bozhou (亳州 古 ò, Bòzhōu gǔ dìdao) are on the List of monuments of the People's Republic of China .

Bozhou has an area of ​​8,523 km² and approx. 5.10 million inhabitants (2016). 474,318 people live in the actual urban settlement area (2010 census).

Bozhou is the home of Hua Mulan , a girl who, according to legend, served in the army for twelve years in place of her father and earned merit. Disney was also interested in this story and made an animated film of the same name in 1999, which achieved great success worldwide. Bozhou is also known as the center of the trade in raw materials for traditional Chinese medicine and as the historical base of General Cao Cao . In Qiaocheng, the Boxian meteorite fell from the sky on October 20, 1977 , in which the new mineral Zhanghengite was discovered.
