action

Anil is a carefree young and married man who likes to avoid responsibility. His wife Priya, on the other hand, seems to be a virtuous role model and initially accepts her husband's idiotic behavior. Even so, they are a happily married couple until Anil begins to withdraw from the marriage.

An argument ensues and when it becomes too much for Priya, she and the children leave the house. When Anil comes home and finds an empty apartment, he suspects nothing bad. But after walking around the house, he discovers Priya's farewell letter. It is written in it that she is leaving him forever.

Anil's initial reaction is anger, which gradually turns into helplessness. Only now does he rediscover his love for Priya. Old memories come back to Anil with the small objects in the house, and he goes on a journey of self-discovery: He remembers their first meeting, the meetings that followed, their wedding, their first baby with the subsequent celebration, the daily grudges in married life and finally of his wandering around in marriage.

Desperate enough to make Anil loathe himself, he contemplates suicide. When he tries to hang himself, Priya arrives at the last moment and stops him in time for his plan. Finally the family is reunited.

Others

Yaadein is Sunil Dutt's directorial debut and a one-person film. The actress Nargis - Dutt's wife - can only be seen in silhouette in the last scene of Priya's return .
