Yatağan was a small town in the district Serinhisar the Turkish province of Denizli . Since the last territorial reform it has been a mahall of the district town. Yatağan is located about 47 km southeast of the provincial capital Denizli and 10 km east of Serinhisar. According to the last census, Yatağan had 2,780 inhabitants (as of 2014).

The administrative area of ​​Yatağan is divided into four districts , Doktorbahaakşit Mahallesi , Hüsnüakşit Mahallesi , İsatunçbilek Mahallesi and Remzişenel Mahallesi , each of which is administered by a Muhtar .

About 3000 people from Yatağan live outside the small town, mostly in the provincial capital Denizli and in Western Europe . The most important source of income is traditionally the blacksmith's shop , especially cutlery . The sabers named after him were made in Yatağan and were used by the Ottomans as military armament from the middle of the 16th century to the 19th century . Today all kinds of knives bearing the brand name Yatağan Bıçakları are made in the small town .
