Yazhou in the west of Sanya

Yazhou ( Chinese 崖州区 , Pinyin Yázhōu Qū ) is the western municipality of the prefecture -level city of Sanya in the Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China . It has an area of 347 km² and about 110,000 inhabitants (2013).

Yazhou was established as a municipality on 30 July 2014 and covers the area of the former large village Yacheng (崖城镇) and the State Farm Nanbin (国营南滨农场).

Administrative structure

In contrast to what is usual in China, the village level in Yazhou is administratively subordinate to the county level (city district). The community level is missing. At the village level, Yazhou consists of seven communities and 24 villages. These are:
