Evgeni Alexandrowitsch Lagunov ( Russian Евгений Александрович Лагунов , scientific transliteration Evgenij Aleksandrovič Lagunov ; born  December 14, 1985 in Arkhangelsk ) is a Russian swimmer .

Career

Lagunow's special routes are the short freestyle distances. He celebrated his greatest successes with the Russian freestyle and medley relay. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , he was part of the Russian 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay and took fourth place with it.

The following year, at the European Short Course Championships in Trieste in 2005 , he was able to swim his first individual medal in international competitions with the silver medal over the 100 meter freestyle course.

At the following Summer Olympics in Beijing in 2008, he swam the silver medal with the Russian 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay together with Nikita Lobinzew , Danila Isotow and Alexander Suchorukow and at the same time set a new European record. Just a few days later, he set another European record together with Arkady Vyatchanin , Roman Sludnow , Evgeni Korotyshkin , the Russian 4 × 100 meter relay relay, with which he finished fourth.
