Yosemite Sam / filmography
This is a list of the various Yosemite Sam - cartoons .
Yosemite Sam appeared in 33 short films in the 1945 and 1964 golden age of American animation. He was almost always Bugs Bunny's adversary . Only in the short films The Duck That Smelled the Roast (1947) and Honey's Money (1962) he was not seen at his side. He also had an icy, short short film appearance in Dog Tales in 1958 , which refers to the short film Wettlauf zum Schmatterhorn (1957). As early as 1943, a similarly speaking character could be heard in the Bugs Bunny short film Super-Schlappohr with the cowboy Cottontail Smith. Another similar-sounding character, a sheriff , appeared in 1944, also at Bugs Bunny's side, in the short film Boards That Mean the World . In Pancho's Hideaway , a Speedy Gonzales -Kurzfilm from 1964 a character named Pancho Vanilla occurs Yosemite Sam is very similar.
The first short film starring Yosemite Sam to appear after the end of the golden age of American animated films was Bugs Bunny's Christmas Carol , which was released in 1979 as part of the television special Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales . By 2004 another five short films with the red-haired cowboy followed.
From 1972 to 1992, Yosemite Sam appeared in a number of television specials, most of which consisted of old short films. Besides Bugs Bunny's Looney Christmas Tales , only Daffy Duck and Porky Pig Meet the Groovie Goolies (1972) and Bugs Bunny at King Arthur's Court (1978) were completely new productions. In the early 1980s he appeared in three theatrical compilation films . He was also in the television series Mein Name ist Hase, shown on ZDF from 1983 to 1987 , which ran in the United States from 1960 to 2000 under the title The Bugs Bunny Show . Several other series appearances followed since the 1990s. From the late 1990s, he appeared in a number of direct-to-videos . In the early 2000s, several webtoons were posted with him on the Looney Tunes website. He was also in the three animated films, Wrong Game with Roger Rabbit (1988), where he had a short appearance, Space Jam (1996) and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003).
