Yvette Lebon

Yvette Lebon (born August 14, 1910 in Paris , † July 28, 2014 in Cannes ) was a French actress.

life and career

Yvette Lebon began her acting career in the early 1930s. She was discovered by the French film director Marc Allégret . Her breakthrough in France came in 1931 with a supporting role in Zouzou , where she played alongside Josephine Baker and Jean Gabin . Several films followed, most of which were only shown in France. During the occupation of France in World War II, she fled to Vichy France , where she continued to make films. After the end of the war, she married the US film producer Nathan Wachsberger. In the following years other small roles followed, such as in 1962 in Hercules, the son of the godsor 1970 in Cannabis - Angels of Violence . At the beginning of the seventies things got quieter for Lebon, who played her last role in je, tu, elles ... in 1972 . She recently lived in seclusion in Paris and was, along with Danielle Darrieux , Micheline Presle and Suzy Delair, one of the last living French film actresses of the pre-war period. Her son Patrick Wachsberger is President of Summit Entertainment .
