Züsedom is a district of the municipality Rollwitz in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald in eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

geography

The place Züsedom on the state border with Brandenburg lies in hilly terrain (heights up to 99 m above sea level ) between Uecker and Randowbruch . The area around Züsedom is largely characterized by agriculture. Pasewalk is six kilometers north of Züsedom. 1.5 kilometers to the east is the approximately 0.4 hectare sickle break and 800 meters northwest of the approximately 0.5 hectare Papenmoor.

history

The manor village was first mentioned in a document in 1367 (in a register of persons: Clawes Czusdom ). In 1650 Züsedom came to the Electress of Brandenburg, then to the Lords of Oldenvliet, von Lindstedt , von Winterfeld , Sehmsdorf (from 1800), Menz and von Arnim (from 1842/43). On July 25, 1952 Züsedom was together with other municipalities from the Brandenburg until 1945 Prussian district Prenzlau removed and the district Pasewalk in Neubrandenburg assigned.

The more than 700-year-old stone church was destroyed in heavy fighting in April 1945 and rebuilt in 1966.

On January 1, 2012, the formerly independent community Züsedom was incorporated into Rollwitz.

Transport links

In Pasewalk there are rail and road connections in all directions. The federal autobahn 20 leads west past the place ( Pasewalk-Süd driveway ).
