Zandpol is a place in the municipality of Emmen in the Dutch province of Drenthe . Until the municipality reform in 1998, Zandpol belonged to the previously independent municipality Schoonebeek .

geography

Zandpol is located on the western edge of the municipality of Emmen, about 4.5 kilometers from the German-Dutch border. The Stieltjeskanaal flows through the village .

Attractions

In the Meringa Museum, which opened in 2004, historical agricultural equipment such as tractors, plows and threshing machines are exhibited, as well as numerous everyday objects and objects from the history of the region.

To the west of the village is the Natuurbad de Zandpol (Natural Baths Zandpol), where the campsites Mini Camping Dennenpol and BuitenLand are located.

Sports

The soccer club VV Zandpol (Voetbalvereniging Zandpol) is based in Zandpol. The club consists of three men's teams and one women's team. VV Zandpol was founded in 1982. The club colors are blue and white. In the 2016/17 season Zandpol played in the 5th amateur class of the KNVB .
