Zasole is a village with a Schulzenamt in the municipality of Brzeszcze in the powiat Oświęcimski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

Zasole is located in the Auschwitz Basin ( Kotlina Oświęcimska ) on the left bank of the Soła , about 18 km northeast of Bielsko-Biała and 55 km southwest of Kraków in the powiat (district) Oświęcim.

Neighboring towns are Przecieszyn and Skidziń in the north, Łęki in the east, Zasole Bielańskie in the south, Jawiszowice in the west.

history

Until 1952 the place was a hamlet of Łęki and was called Łęki - Zasole . The name means [the place] after Soła ( [miejsce] za Sołą ). In 1953 it became an independent village in the Nowa Wieś municipality . Since 1954 it has belonged to the Gromada Przecieszyn, since 1973 to the Jawiszowice municipality in the Oświęcimski powiat, and since 1975 to the Brzeszcze municipality.

From 1975 to 1998 Zasole was part of the Katowice Voivodeship .
