The Zauchenbach is a brook in the municipalities of Thurn and Lienz ( Lienz district ). The Zauchenbach rises on slopes southeast of the Schleinitz and flows into the Isel at Patriasdorf .
course
The Zauchenbach rises in several source streams in the municipality of Thurn on the southern and eastern slopes between the Schleinitz ( 2904 m above sea level ) in the northwest, the Goisele ( 2433 m above sea level ) in the northeast and the Rottenmannalm in the east. The northernmost and highest source arm rises in the area of the Neue Thurner Alm, further source streams can be found especially in the area of the Eggeralm. After the union of these source streams, the Zauchenbach flows in a south-westerly direction through wooded area in the middle course, approaching the Schleinitzbach to the west up to around 20 meters. While the Schleinitzbach flows south-west past the village of Prappernitze as it enters the Lienz valley floor , the Zauchenbach turns south to flow past Prappernitze on the east side. The Zauchenbach then runs through the localities of Oberdorf and the eponymous Zauche and reaches the municipality of Lienz and its cadastral municipality of Patriasdorf south of Zauche bei Anthof. The Zauchenbach finally flows in the east from Patriasdorf to its left confluence with the Isel.
