Zdenko Baotić (born March 9, 1985 in Gradačac , Yugoslavia ) is a former Bosnian-Herzegovinian football goalkeeper . In addition to Bosnian-Herzegovinian citizenship, he also has Croatian citizenship.
Career
Baotić began his career as a professional footballer in 2001 with HNK Orašje in the Premijer Liga , the top division of Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the football club from Orašje , he completed 85 games by 2006 and was the Bosnian-Herzegovinian cup winner with the team in the 2005/06 season . After his departure he received an offer from the traditional Croatian club Hajduk Split , which he turned down to move to FK Željezničar Sarajevo in the capital of his home country. With the blue-whites from Sarajevo , he ran in 24 games on the field before he was without a club in 2008. Then he was in contact with the Austrian Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz , where he completed a four-day trial training session in December 2008. On January 5, 2009 it was announced that Baotić had signed a contract with SK Sturm until the end of the 2008/09 season with an option for two more years, which, however, will not be withdrawn. Baotić was never used for the traditional Styrian club. Only once in his time at the club did he sit on the bench as the second goalkeeper, but he made seven appearances for the Graz amateur team in the third- tier Regionalliga Mitte .
In the summer break before the 2009/10 season he moved to Oțelul Galați in League 1 , the top division in Romanian football. His contract was terminated at the end of 2010. He was then without a club for some time before ending his career.
International
From 2002 to 2007 Baotić was in the goal of the U-21 selection of Bosnia and Herzegovina , for which he completed a total of 17 international matches. In autumn 2007, the coach of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian national football team , Fuad Muzurović , took him on to the squad.
