Zhang Jie (weightlifter)

Zhang Jie (born August 26, 1987 in Fuzhou , Fujian Province , China ) is a Chinese weightlifter . In 2010 he became world champion jerk in featherweight and vice world champion in duel.

Career

Like most of China's world-class weightlifters, Zhang Jie was discovered at a young age during a talent search at his school in his hometown of Fuzhou. Through targeted training, he achieved such good results at the age of 16 that he was accepted into the extended squad of the Chinese national weightlifting team. At the age of 18 he was used at the Asian men's championship in Dubai in featherweight and won there with 295 kg (132-163) in a duel straight away, the championship title before his compatriot Li Chunseng , who reached 288 kg.

In 2007, Zhang Jie was in Prague junior world champion in featherweight with achieved 306 kg (136-170) before Liu Xin, China, 305 kg (137-168) and the Indonesian Triyatno , who came to 300 kg. In April 2008 he achieved a new featherweight duel world record at the Asian Championship in Kanazawa / Japan with 326 kg (147-179) and again won the Asian title ahead of the Indonesian Eko Yuli Irawan , 305 kg and Umurbek Basarbayev from Turkmenistan , who came to 296 kg (136-160). Surprisingly, he was then not in the Olympic Games in Beijing used.

In 2009 Zhang Jie failed at the Chinese championships. After 142 kg in the snatch, he did not make a valid attempt in the push and therefore could not place in this championship without a duel. The consequence of this was that he was not used in any international championships in 2009. In 2010 he won the Chinese featherweight championship and came close to his world record with a duel of 324 kg (146-178). He left Qin Yifu , 318 kg (139-179) and Yu Tao, 317 kg (142-175) behind. At the World Championships this year in Antalya he did not manage this performance and was with a duel of 315 kg (141-174) behind the North Korean Kim Un Guk , who achieved 320 kg (147-173) only in 2nd place. The main reason for this was that he only managed one valid attempt in the tear. In pushing, he won the world title with 174 kg ahead of the North Korean. At the Asian Championships in Guangzhou in November 2010, he then managed to return the favor. He won there with 321 kg (145-176) his third Asian title ahead of Kim Un Guk, who came to 317 kg (147-170).

In April 2011, Zhang Jie won again in Tongling / China at the Asian Championships and raised a duel of 317 kg (147-170), with which he was ahead of the two North Koreans Kim Un Guk, 306 kg (140-166) and Cha Kum Chol , 298 kg (131–167) won.
