Zhang Yingying

Zhang Yingying ( Chinese  张莹莹 , Pinyin Zhāng Yíngyíng ; born January 4, 1990 ) is a Chinese long-distance runner .

She first made a name for herself as fourth in the 2007 Xiamen Marathon . In the Beijing Marathon of the same year she finished second in 2:27:20 hours, and shortly afterwards she ran the fourth-best time of the year over 10,000 m with 31: 17.30 minutes .

One day after her 18th birthday, she won the Xiamen Marathon in 2:22:38 hours, setting a world record for women. Then she was nominated together with Zhou Chunxiu and Zhu Xiaolin for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, but there she finally started over 5000 m , where she was eliminated in the semi-finals, and 10,000 m, where she finished 16th.

She came third in the Beijing Marathon that year. In 2009 she finished second in the Xiamen Marathon, but with 2:32:57 h was more than ten minutes above her time in the previous year, won the Yangzhou Jianzhen Half Marathon and came in 18th at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin over 10,000 m .

In 2017 he was banned for four years for violating the doping rules .
