course

The naming in the upper reaches is not uniform. In the area directory of the Austrian river areas published by the Central Hydrographic Office , an east of the Magdalensberg at about 805  m above sea level. A. The source of the brook is assumed to be the source brook of the Ziegelbach, which takes up the Labongraben after about 1.7 km from the right (referred to as Labonbach in the Franziszeischen Cadastre ) with a slightly larger catchment area up to that point. The Carinthian Geographical Information System, on the other hand, describes the water running in the Labongraben as the source stream of the Ziegelbach. This brook rises on the northern slope of Christofberg , west of Latschach in the municipality of Magdalensberg, at an altitude of about 865  m above sea level. A. From there it flows north through the Labongraben, in which it initially forms the border between the municipalities of Magdalensberg and Sankt Georgen am Längsee over a length of about one kilometer, before entering the municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee and a few small ones from both sides Feeder streams, including from the left that nameless feeder that is considered to be the source stream of the Ziegelbach according to the area index of the Austrian river areas. In St. Sebastian he picks up the Wartschenbachl from the right . Then flows west past the Hochosterwitz castle hill, reaches the plain southwest of Launsdorf , flows through an alder forest and turns west. South of Reipersdorf flows right side of the Längsee coming Lavabach to, shortly after the left side of the Magdalensberg coming Wordalebach. From here on the brook is sometimes also called Untermühlbach . Then the terrain deepens again a little; The former route of the Kronprinz-Rudolf-Bahn runs along the brook to the right, the Mairistbach flows into it from the left. The stream enters the area of the municipality of Sankt Veit an der Glan, reaches the plain of the Glan Valley in Untermühlbach , crosses under the Klagenfurt expressway and shortly afterwards flows into the Glan from the left .

The ecomorphological state of water is considered to be near-natural ; large areas of the brook are very sensitive to changes.

On June 1, 2017, after a thunderstorm, severe flooding occurred, especially in the Untermühlbach area.
