Zollhaus , in Lower Sorbian Cłonica , is a residential area belonging to the district of Proschim in the town of Welzow in the Spree-Neisse district in the south of Brandenburg . The scattered settlement goes back to the historic "Altes Zollhaus" inn in the village, which is a listed building, which in turn is named after an old customs station at this point.

location

Zollhaus is located in Niederlausitz , just north of the border with Saxony . The settlement is located twelve kilometers as the crow flies west of Spremberg or northwest of Hoyerswerda and 14 kilometers east of Senftenberg . The surrounding villages are Karlsfeld in the north, the two Saxon villages Sabrodt in the southeast and Bluno in the south and Proschim in the northwest. To the north of the eponymous customs house is the Zollhaus pond .

The place is on the district road 7120 between Karlsfeld and the border with the Free State of Saxony. The state road 522 is one kilometer north and the federal road 156 two kilometers southeast of Zollhaus.

history

The Zollhaus settlement, which consists of four homesteads, was mentioned as the Proschimer Zollhaus as early as 1820 . The settlement then consisted of two fire pits (residential houses) and had nine residents. In the topographical-statistical manual of the government district of Frankfurt a. O. from 1867, the settlement is known as an expanded customs tavern . It probably functioned as a customs post on the border between the Margraviate of Niederlausitz and the Margraviate of Upper Lusatia and later between the Prussian provinces of Brandenburg and Silesia .

The historic restaurant was built around 1888 (according to different information, 1899) with the establishment of a property by the Proschim innkeeper Ernst Scheack, who ran an inn called "Altes Zollhaus" in the building. The economy ceased in 1958, and the building has been empty since 1989.

The old customs house on the K 7120 is a listed building. On October 26, 2003, the community of Proschim, to which Zollhaus had always belonged administratively, was incorporated into the city of Welzow . In the event of a permit to open the second subfield of the Welzow-Süd open-cast lignite mine , the settlement would be threatened with devastation , and the LEAG would like to make a decision in 2020.
