The Zourite (dt .: squid ) is a special ship for the construction of offshore - viaducts .
Ship description
The Zourite was built at the Polish Crist shipyard for the France- based company Bouygues Travaux Publics. The ship, registered in France, is 106.5 meters long and 49 meters wide. The draft of the ship is max. 5.95 meters, the load capacity 6086 t. The maximum payload of the ship is 4790 t.
The motorized barge has a diesel-electric drive . For the power supply are four generators available that four four-stroke - twelve-cylinder - diesel engines of the manufacturer Caterpillar with a total of 5028 kW power are driven. Propulsion is carried out by four propeller pods . With the drive system it can be dynamically positioned in order to place components with great precision at the intended locations. The ship reaches a maximum speed of 4 knots .
The gantry crane with a capacity of 2 × 2,400 tons, located 33 meters above the deck, was built by Enerpac Integrated Solutions based in Hengelo , the Netherlands . The special ship is equipped with eight lifting legs, each 55 meters long, with a lifting speed of 0.5 m / min.
Offshore highway
The barge will be used for the construction of an offshore motorway on the island of La Réunion . The offshore highway is intended to replace the existing coastal road, which has been hit by tropical storms, floods and falling rocks. For the construction, the barge picks up the foundation elements, which are largely made of concrete, from the port of La Réunion in order to set them down on the seabed. The pillars are then placed in two parts and the other segments, which are largely made of concrete, are positioned and assembled with further prefabricated components to form the motorway. The work is planned over a period of 24 months and will last until 2018.
