Zschocken is a district of the city of Hartenstein in Saxony . It is characterized above all by its numerous historical farms and, until it was incorporated into the city of Hartenstein, with an area of 16.5 km² and a length of over 7 km, it was considered the largest farming village in the Ore Mountains .
history
The first documentary mention took place in 1219. The place was originally divided into Oberschocken and Niederzschocken and partly belonged to the Lordship of Wildenfels and to the Schönburg office of Hartenstein . At times, parts of Zschocken also belonged to the little cell and the Grünhain monastery . Zschocken came only in 1880 all the way to Amtshauptmannschaft Zwickau and later to the district of Zwickau . In 1996 it was incorporated into the city of Hartenstein.
Attractions
The church in Zschocken with its restored ceiling and wall paintings from 1619 is particularly worth seeing.
