It was demolished in 1932 due to its dilapidation and lack of space and replaced by a new building in the same place, the inauguration of which took place on March 26, 1933.

The Michelbacher Filialgemeinde Maria pain belongs to the parish Herz-Jesu in Nunkirchen , which has been part of the parish community of Wadern in the Losheim- Wadern deanery since September 1st, 2011 .

Furnishing

View inside the church

Of importance is a miraculous image of Our Lady of Sorrows with the seven arrows from the 18th century, which has been in the high altar since 1932 and was probably carved by a Tholeyer monk . The miraculous image was located in the chapel that was demolished in 1932 before today's church was built and is the occasion for the pilgrimage, which takes place annually on the day of the patronage , the Friday of Sorrows before Palm Sunday .

The first church window shows the old chapel on the right, framed by two linden trees . In stylized form, the representation in the center shield of Michelbach's coat of arms corresponds to the representation of the chapel in the church window.
