It Dies Today

It Dies Today (formed in September, 2001) is a Metalcore band based in Buffalo, New York. Their first album contains harsher vocals than their follow-ups[citation needed]. The band announced their break up on the last day of the Never Shave Again Tour, in Clifton Park, NY. However, this later turned out to be a joke played by the lead singer to a few people: Their MySpace page confirms this. On January 17th, 2007 it was announced that frontman/lead vocals Nick Brooks had left the band and that Jason Wood would be the new vocalist. The band will also be playing at Warped Tour summer of '07. It Dies Today has posted two songs with new vocalist Jason Wood on their official myspace page. They are currently in the studio recording their third album due in the summer.

Trivia

  • Chris Cappelli, Nick Mirusso, and (former member) Nick Brooks previously played together in a hardcore band called "Bullet vs. Eye." BvE played their last show on July 31, 2001 at the Tudor Lounge in Buffalo, NY.
  • The title Freak Gasoline Fight Accident is taken from the film Zoolander in which Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) gives a eulogy to his friends who died in a "freak gasoline fight accident".
  • Chris Cappelli & Nick Brooks were only 16 years old when It Dies Today was formed with former members Seth Thompson & Joe Cuonze.
  • IDT covered Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence". The song was featured on the Showtime network's series Masters of Horror Soundtrack.
  • IDT recorded a song called Feliz Navidad for A Santa Cause 2: It's a Punk Rock Christmas to benefit the search for a cure to autism.
  • During IDT's "Enjoy the Silence" music video, the man who wrote a poem is actually the poem "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe, believed to be based on his young wife Virginia. The music video also shows a cat, which is possibly a reference to "The Black Cat," another one of Poe's works.
  • Steve Lemke was in a band called "Breaking the Distance" before joining It Dies Today.
  • IDT met current vocalist Jason Wood whist on tour with Still Remains. Wood was playing fill-in bass. Wood performed vocals on "The Worst Is Yet To Come" with Still Remains when both bands participated in the Vans Warped Tour in 2007.
