It Dies Today (sometimes abbreviated IDT ) is a five-piece metalcore band from Buffalo , New York , formed in 2001 . To date, three albums and one EP have been released.

history

In August 2001, Nicholas Brooks, Chris Cappelli and Steve Lemke formed a metalcore band in Buffalo. Later on, drummer Nick Mirusso and bassist Seth Thompson joined the band. The record label Life Sentence Records became aware of It Dies Today through its first concerts, and in 2002 the label's first EP Forever Scorned was released .

This was followed by appearances with well-known groups such as Between the Buried and Me and Alexisonfire , Steve Sanchez temporarily became bassist until 2003. After his departure, the previous guitarist Steve Lemke switched to bass. Mike Hatalak joined It Dies Today as the new guitarist. Further appearances followed with bands such as Throwdown , Eighteen Visions and Bleeding Through .

The increasing success brought the musicians a contract with Trustkill Records , on the 2004 debut album The Caitiff Choir was released. Joint concerts with All That Remains , Caliban , DevilDriver , Fear Factory , God Forbid , The Haunted , Machine Head and Trivium followed. In 2005, It Dies Today was featured on the soundtrack for the Masters of Horror film series with a cover of the Depeche Mode song Enjoy the Silence . In Europe, a re-release of The Caitiff Choir with bonus tracks was released in 2006 .

After a tour with Bullet for My Valentine and Still Remains , the first tour in Europe followed in May 2006 with Every Time I Die and Protest the Hero . In the same year the second studio album Sirens was released .

After US tours with Aiden , Papa Roach and Silverstein , singer Nick Brooks announced his departure from the band in 2007. He was replaced by Jason Wood, who was previously bassist for Still Remains .

On September 15, 2009, the third studio album Lividity was released.

Singer Jason Wood left It Dies Today in 2012, and founding member Nicholas Brooks returned to the band.

A fourth studio album has been announced for 2015.
