Beyoncé's forthcoming album is the third solo studio album by American R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles. The release date is determined to be November 18, 2008.[1][2][3]

"If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies" are the first singles from the upcoming and are to be released to radio on October 09, 2008, according to beyonceworld.net, preceding the album's release on November 18, 2008. Knowles shot the video for her forthcoming single "If I Were a Boy" from her new album on the weekend after the Fashion Rocks Event and directed by Jake Nava who also co-directed "Beautiful Liar", the video is to have a similar theme to the 2006 video for her song "Ring the Alarm".

Justin Timberlake has been confirmed to be working with Knowles on this album.[4].

Beyoncé stated on her official website:

"I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life. I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby. It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny's Child when I was 15 years old. I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me. The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side. I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all. There is no label or tag on my sound. It's me and I am so excited to share it with the world on November 18." [5]

History

Knowles reportedly started working on her third studio album in December of last year. As reported by Scratch magazine, producer Timbaland has been signed to produce the majority of the album.[6] In an interview with producer Rodney Jerkins, he said that the style of the album keeps switching and is inspired by Knowles' upcoming film, Cadillac Records,[7] in which Knowles has been cast to play famed blues singer Etta James, he also mentioned that the current release date she is working at for her third and yet untitled album is November 2008.[8] Knowles also recorded a cover of Billy Joel's "Honesty" which was included on a Matthew Knowles/Music World CD released only in Japan towards the end of June 2008 to celebrate the tenth-year anniversary of Destiny's Child.
