Kolbasov Hungarian: Végaszó is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1548 as Kolbazo, later as Kolbászó, Kolbócz and Kolbaszó until 1899. After the name Véraszó was used, and after Végaszó until the village became part of Czechoslovakia.

Several Jews were murdered here on 8 December 1945, the last night of Chanuka.[1]

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 312 metres and covers an area of 15.965 km². It has a population of about 110 people.
