Osadné (up to 1948 in Slovak "Telepovce"; in Hungarian Telepóc ) is a small community in Okres Snina ( Prešovský kraj ) in the far east of Slovakia with 157 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and is located in the traditional Zemplín landscape .

The community is located in the Low Beskids , almost exactly between the Laborecká vrchovina and the Bukovské vrchy mountains . The river Udava flows through the village, which has its source on the main ridge on the Polish border and is part of the Laborec river system . The center of the village is at an altitude of 394  m nm and is 18 kilometers from Snina .

history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1542 and belonged to the manor of Humenné , in the 17th century the Szirmay family . The name Telepouz is recorded in 1639 . In 1787 there were 60 houses and 512 inhabitants, in 1828 80 houses and 592 inhabitants.

Until 1918, the place in Semplin County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

population

According to the 2011 census, 189 people lived in Osadné, including 106 Slovaks, 80 Russians, two Czechs and one Russian. 102 residents supported the Orthodox Church, 52 residents the Greek Catholic Church, 12 residents the Roman Catholic Church and one resident each for the Apostolic Church and the Czechoslovak-Hussite Church. Two residents were non-denominational and the denomination of 18 residents has not been determined.

  • Greek Catholic Church in the classical style from 1792
  • Orthodox Church of the Assumption of the Lord ( Chrám Voznesenija Hospodinovho ) from 1930. The crypt contains the remains of 1,025 soldiers from the First World War.
