Dlhé nad Cirochou (until 1927 "Cirocké Dlhé"; Hungarian Cirókahosszúmező - until 1882 Cirokahosszúmező ) is the fourth largest municipality in Okres Snina in eastern Slovakia with around 2100 inhabitants .
The street village between the towns of Humenné and Snina is located in the agriculturally intensively used Cirocha Valley. The valley is framed in the north by the foothills of the Laboretz mountains ( Laborecká vrchovina ) with heights over 500 m ( Patria , 532 m above sea level) and in the south by the Vihorlat Mountains ( Vihorlatské vrchy ) with the nearby " local mountain" Trislák (772 m) ).
Dlhé nad Cirochou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Adidovce in the north, Belá nad Cirochou in the east, Modra nad Cirochou in the south and Rovné and Vyšný Hrušov in the west.
The trunk road 74 from Humenné to the Ukrainian border ( Ubľa crossing ) runs through Dlhé, as does the parallel Humenné - Snina - Stakčín railway . Thanks to the convenient transport connections, many residents of the community commute to the nearby industrial town of Humenné.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1342.
Almost exclusively Slovaks live in Dlhé . 97% of the population profess the Roman Catholic Church .
