Nová Sedlica (until 1927 in Slovak "Novosedlica"; in Russian Новоселіця / Novoselizja ; in Hungarian Újszék - until 1902 Novoszedlica - 1939 to 1945 Novaszedlica ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia . It is located in the Bukovské vrchy Mountains near the border triangle Poland , Ukraine and Slovakia on the Kremenec mountain , about 43 km from Snina .
It is the easternmost municipality in the country. At the 2011 census, 70% of the population said Russian was their mother tongue.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1630 as Nouoszelicze .
From 1939 to 1945 it belonged to Hungary and was called Novaszedlica .
The Stužica , a nature reserve in the Poloniny National Park , which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007, is located in the municipality .
