Stakčín (Hungarian Takcsány - until 1902 Sztakcsin ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia .
location
It is located in the valley of the Cirocha river , about seven kilometers east of Snina and a few kilometers from the Starina reservoir , between the Vihorlatské vrchy and Bukovské vrchy mountains in the ( Forest Carpathians ).
The headquarters of the Poloniny National Park Administration is in Stakčín.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1492 as Staccyn . Until 1918 it belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia .
After the occupation in the Slovak-Hungarian War in 1939, Stakčín was affiliated to Hungary as Takcsány until 1945 , since then the place has been part of Czechoslovakia again and, since 1993, of the newly formed Slovakia .
In 1981 the villages Ostrožnica , Smolník and Veľká Poľana were annexed, in 1985 Starina followed and in 1986 the villages Dara , Ruské and Zvala . All of these places are wholly or partly in the area of the Starina reservoir.
