Uličské Krivé (until 1927 in Slovak "Krivé"; in Hungarian Görbeszeg - until 1907 and 1939-1945 Ulicskriva ) is a municipality in Okres Snina ( Prešovský kraj ) in the far east of Slovakia with 243 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the traditional landscape Zemplín .
geography
The municipality is located in the southern part of the Bukovské vrchy Mountains in the valley of the Zbojský creek , near the state border with Ukraine . To the southeast of the built-up area is the Rožok National Nature Reserve , which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site " Primeval Beech Forests in the Carpathians " since 2007 . Parts of the municipality belong to the Poloniny National Park . The center of the village is at an altitude of 284 m nm and is 36 kilometers from Snina .
Neighboring municipalities are Zboj in the north and northeast, Strytschawa (UA) in the east, Ulič in the south, Kolbasov in the west and Ruský Potok in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1478 as Kriwa . A new foundation under Wallachian law took place around 1550, in 1567 a tax of three and a half porta had to be paid. The village was part of the Humenné estate and was owned by the Drugeth family ; in the 18th century it was owned by the Kiss family . In 1828 there were 43 houses and 326 inhabitants who were primarily employed as forest workers and weavers.
Until 1918, the place in Semplin County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. As a result of the Slovak-Hungarian War , the village belonged again to Hungary from 1939 to 1944.

According to the 2011 census, Uličské Krivé had 268 residents, including 188 Slovaks , 52 Russians , six Ukrainians , two Czechs and one German and one Serbian . 18 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
166 residents supported the Greek Catholic Church, 62 residents the Orthodox Church, seven residents the Roman Catholic Church and two residents the Apostolic Church. 10 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 21 residents was not determined.
