Star Chinese Movies is a Singaporean Chinese language pay television channel owned by Star China Media and Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific, subsidiary of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International. It features Chinese films, featuring famous actors such as Bruce Lee also a Chinese movie channel broadcast to Asia. This channel mainly broadcasts Cantonese and Chinese movies, most of which broadcast Hong Kong movies, Jackie Chan, Chow Yun-fat, Michelle Yeoh, Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng, Stephen Chow and many more. Star Chinese Movies headquarters are located in Singapore.

History

It was launched on 1 May 1994 as Star Mandarin Movies. At that time, it screened both Hollywood and Cantonese-language films and was focused to a pan-Asian audience split into two television channels: Star Movies International (now Fox Movies) and Star Mandarin Movies (now Star Chinese Movies). The channel mainly broadcasts "Hong Kong films" and Chinese-language movies (including Chinese movies, Taiwanese movies, Singapore movies, Malaysian movies), Japanese movies, Japanese animations (ribbones and theater versions), Korean movies in bilingual, Thai movies, and digitally remaster fully Hong Kong action movies.

On 15 December 2007, a sister channel named Star Legend Movies was launched.

On 19 May 2012, the Hong Kong was officially rebranded. The channel logo was also changed from a star, to a crown.
