Human is the upcoming fifth studio album by American R&B singer Brandy, to be released online and in stores in the United States on December 9, 2008.[4] The album marks Brandy's debut on the Epic Records label, following her split with Atlantic Records in 2005.[5]

The singer has been working on the album on and off since 2005, but recently revealed on a radio promotion tour that she's been recording new material since April 2008.[6] The project involves a wide range of producers and songwriters such as Timbaland,[3] Soundz,[7] Greg Curtis,[8] Toby Gad,[9] Crystal "Cri$tyle" Johnson,[10] Claude Kelly,[11] Kara DioGuardi,[12] Tim & Bob,[13] RedOne,[14] Jim Beanz,[15] Rockwilder,[16] WyldCard, Bryan-Michael Cox, Hit-Boy, Midi Mafia,[6] and Brian Kennedy,[17] as well as other musicians such as Natasha Bedingfield,[18] Tonex,[19] Esthero,[20] Keri Hilson,[21] Yung Berg,[22] Taio Cruz,[15] and violinist Josh Vietti.[23] Although planned, studio collaborations with Kerry "Krucial" Brothers and Missy Elliott did not materialize due to scheduling conflicts.[24][25]

The album's leading single, entitled "Right Here (Departed)," premiered on August 13, 2008 via Brandy's official website. A second single, "Long Distance," was premiered on October 3, 2008 via Pittsburgh radio station WAMO.[26]
