Congosto de Valdavia is a municipality located in the province of Palencia, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 239 inhabitants.
History
One hamlet of this municipality whose name is Cornoncillo, has been related by several people with the military campaing of Ausgustus against the Cantabri.[2]
Another hamlet of the municipality, Villanueva de Abajo, had its origin in a repopulation of the 10th century. A cementery of the Low Middle Ages a necropolis has been discovered in the locality.[2]
