Brañosera is a place and a Spanish municipality (municipio) in the province of Palencia of the autonomous community of Castile-Leon at 1220  msnm . It has an area of ​​62 km², 271 inhabitants (2019) and a population density of 4 inhabitants per km².

location

The municipality is located 118 kilometers north of the provincial capital Palencia and north of Aguilar de Campoo . Brañosera can be reached from the P-220 road.

history

Brañosera is one of the oldest places in the region. In 824, Count Munio Núñez had the place laid out as part of the Reconquista .

economy

The place lived from the mining of coal and minerals since the 19th century. The decline of this branch of the economy since the 1960s is clearly evident in the population development.
