Ledigos is a place on the Camino de Santiago in the province of Palencia in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León .

history

The history of the place is shaped by its location on the Way of St. James. The parish church is consecrated to the apostle James, in it there should be the only church on the way to depict the apostle as apostle, pilgrim and slayer of the Moors. There was also the pilgrims' hospice of Saint Lazarus, of which a stone on the road to Población de Arroyo reminds us today. It was destroyed in 1752 and used as a quarry for the Ermita Nuestra Señora de Vallejera.

Worth seeing

• Jacob's Church (Iglesia de Santiago Mayor), 17th century, single nave, altarpiece from the 17th and 18th centuries. The depiction of the crucified was made by Dr. Parrado del Olmo attributed to the artist Juan Sáez de Torrecilla.
